What it is
Local infrastructure, built node by node.
Meshtastic devices automatically relay packets for one another, so well-placed fixed nodes make the whole island more useful. ManxMesh infrastructure nodes are named after stars and are being built as a reliable, redundant backbone for portable and home nodes.
The aim is useful coverage across the Island's towns, glens, hills, open spaces, and coastal areas. It can be handy when hiking in the mountains, exploring a glen, out to sea, or anywhere mobile coverage is limited.

Start portable, then improve coverage.
Use it while walking, cycling, boating, or exploring places where mobile signal can be patchy.
If you can, add a fixed node at home with a better antenna, such as in a loft, window, or on a roof.
